  ....He's a beautiful 11 Yr. old bird. We adopted him and he has readily adapted. Adoption should always be an option when thinking of owning a pet.He will be spoiled here and loved.The first words he spoke were  "I Love You"

Milkweed and Monarchs

 ITS THAT TIME TO THINK ABOUT MONARCHS. 

              IF YOU HAVE MILKWEED IN YOUR GARDEN ITS PROBLY FLOWERING NOW WHICH WILL ATTRACT MONARCH BUTTERFLIES TO IT. CHECK PERIODICALLY FOR EGGS OR CATERPILLARS  THAT WILL CHANGE INTO CHRYSALIS, AND EVENTUALLY HATCH INTO A BUTTERFLY. IT TAKES 30 DAYS FROM EGG TO BUTTERFLY.

              MILKWEED MAY BE A WEED TO SOME BUT ITS BENEFICIAL TO OTHER SPECIES. LET YOUR MILKWEED GROW AND ENJOY WHAT IT BRINGS......

Grieving

 So, I guess mentioning that when you keep pets you sometimes lose pets.

Be prepared to tell your child that pets aren't forever and sometimes they will pass on. If your children are old enough to take care of their pets they are old enough to understand. If their not the pets are ours as parents. Losing a pet regardless of what it is, is difficult to even grown ups, if your an animal lover like me. 

I recently lost a pet and it wasnt really expected. I always treat my deceased pets with dignity and dont make light of it.

Planting outside....

                 If you haven't noticed its planting time again, and outside is a perfect place to make your own arrangements. My wife likes plants as well so we make our own. She pickes the type of plants and I do the planting.

                  The wheather is perfect for growing your plants outside, and a good place to appreciate them. Pay attention to the type of sun the plants you pick require and you'll have great success.  

                  Don't forget potted plants dry quickly, especially if they dont get rained on.Water daily or as needed.

           Creating a space that you can appreciate your pets and plants in one place is relaxing and keeps maintenace easier.  If possible use grow lights of any type to enhance the plant growth and to add lighting on your subjects.

           These settings are most enjoyable during the short hr of daylight during the winter months, but can be rewarding any time of the year.
