IRIS

Iris are a flowering plant with over 300 species. They are a creeping plant, that grow from Rhizomes or Bulbs in drier climates.

Irises are a beautiful flowering plant that is known for its vibrant blue and purple colors. These plants bloom in the spring and can grow up to 4 feet tall, depending on the species. They are commonly found in gardens, parks, and other outdoor spaces where they can add a pop of color to the landscape.

One of the most interesting things about irises is their symbolism. In ancient Greek mythology, Iris was the goddess of the rainbow and messenger of the gods. She was known to use rainbows as a bridge between the heavens and earth. As a result, irises are often considered a symbol of hope and communication. They have also been associated with royalty and were a popular subject for artists during the Renaissance period. Today, irises continue to be admired for their beauty and are often used in floral arrangements and other decorative displays.

LIFE IN A JAR

WE ARE ALWAYS THROWING AWAY JARS AND BOTTLES THAT WOULD MAKE REALLY NICE TERRARIUMS .

PUTTING A  SMALL AMOUNT OF SOIL INTO A JAR AND WATERING IT  WOULD SUPRISE YOU  TO WHAT WOULD GROW FROM WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS NOTHING.

GLASS AND PLASTIC BOTTLES WITH SOIL  AND WHAT EVER YOU MAY WANT TO GERMINATE WOULD BE BEST WITH LID ON. THIS CREATES A GREENHOUSE EFFECT KEEPING SEEDS OR PLANTS WARM AND MOIST. AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT THAT COULD RAISE THE TEMPS TO CRITICAL TEMPS AND DESTROY THE POSSIBILITY TO GERMINATE,

WITH A LITTLE PATIENCE YOU CAN CREATE LIFE IN A JAR

THIS PIC I USED A MOISTENED NAPKIN TO GERMINATE THE SEED.

TROUT LILIES

The Trout Lily (Erythronium) or Dog Tooth Violet is a small yellow wildflower which grows in northern hardwood forests in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. A spring ephemera, it blooms, produces fruit and dies back before the canopy trees leaf out.

Trout Lily has tulip-like green leaves with silvery-maroon mottled markings. The plants will spread slowly to form colonies, but can take many years to flower. A single, very attractive flower will bloom for just a few days on mature plant early in the spring
