In terms of temperament, English Pointers are typically gentle, affectionate, and sociable dogs. However, due to their high energy levels, they may not be suitable for households with very small or fragile pets.

It's worth noting that English Pointers have a strong prey drive, a trait inherited from their hunting background. This means they may instinctively chase after small animals, so it's essential to supervise them when they are outdoors and ensure they are in a secure, enclosed area. With proper training, socialization, and exercise, English Pointers can make loyal and loving companions for active individuals or families.
